Officially known as Olaf Bender, Byetone is the founder together with Carsten Nicola and Frank Bretschneider of the legendary Raster-Noton label, located in Chemnitz, previously Karl-Marx Stadt. Graphic designer and visual artists, but mostly pioneer of new sonic boundaries. Extreme architect of algorithms and software, he still fonds his work on a very human rule: "My creations must have a physical impact, all of them. As visual impress the retina, so music should alternatively either create vertigo or induce to dance". |
