Rurality 2.0 Irpinia and environs


A mantle of forest coats the green Irpinia, one of the most environmentally beautiful and rich areas of Italy, that includes parks and nature reserves, mountains and plateaus full of springs, caves, lakes, rivers, waterfalls and forests. Irpinia's colors and scents invites to walk through an untouched environment along routes that at each step reveal breathtaking views of majestic mountains, rivers, broad valleys. 
This land gradually disclose along the wonders of the landscapes a secular heritage of culture and art: Etruscan, Greeks, Roman, Goths, Lombards. Many settlers have gone through these lands and their memory is still live through Roman ruins, austere catacombs, lombards foundations, baroque monuments. Irpinia is well known around the world for a great wine tradition: land of DOCG wines like Taurasi, Greco di Tufo and Fiano. These wines are able to enhance the typicality of local gastronomy: produces of high quality and traditional recipes that guarantee a great cusine. The territory of Bisaccia and its surroundings offer fantastic sceneries, close to the vast expanses of Puglia and a few kilometers away from Monte Vulture. Noteworthy are the products of the areas, such as Caciocavallo Podolico, Pecorino di Carmasciano, Aglianico del Vulture DOC. Other beautiful villages are set in the immediate proximity of Bisaccia (Calitri, Sant'Agata di Puglia) which boast also with very fascinating places like the Mefite dandelion in the Valle d'Ansanto.
