Retina.it is Lino Monaco and Nicola Buono. In 1994 they met dj Rino Cerrone and together gave birth to the Qmen, one of the first Neapolitan group,in which the echoes of the first new wave of the 80's are still evident . With this name, the trio sent to press some 12" with different italian and foreign labels. From the ashes of Qmen, Retina.it project rises. Their music soon impressed the Hefty records of Chicago so they decided to publish Retina.it exordium Lp " Volcano waves 1-8" (2001) 8 pieces among experimentation, space passages and rhythmic vibrations, heritage of a common techno background never denied. They also released some 12" and an ep ("Immediate Action"). The duet together with Marco Messina gave birth in 2003 to their own Label Mousikelab, that the year after published "Opinio omnium" Resina's first work, a synthesis of the names Retina.it – Messina. 2004 was the year of the second album, released with the title "s/t", still on Mousikelab. In November of the same year the duo went to USA for their first Hefty IA minitour with Telefon Tel Aviv and L'Altra.
In July 2005, Retina.it plus Marco Messina (Resina) were invited to open Kraftwerk show at Neapolis Festival. In April 2006, Retina.it has participated at Hefty's anniversary party in Berlin, with T.Raumschmiere, Slicker, Eliot Lipp. Also, to celebrate it , Hefty has released 3 cds titled "History is Bunk vol. 1+2" and "10 years Hefty Digest", with guests as R.Sakamoto, H.Hosono, Jan Jelinek, Prefuse 73, J. Edgar, where Retina.it is presented with three tracks. In May of the same year was released the first publication of an ep available only via Itunes, that will be also released on a cd during the current year. Moreover, they were invited at 13th edition of Sonar 2006.
