(etre) is the (post)-digital music project of Salvatore Borrelli that starts his research with field recordings of empty rooms and consequent amplification of silence. He uses different typologies of media that he manipulates in real/time: neon, ice, glass, fire, colours & chemical substances, robots, radios, metals, ethnic instruments, working out a doughy mixture between abstraction, free/music & glitches with a particular approach that consists to produce a stratification to not correspond at primary element in a constant relation between origin & becoming, ralativity of intact forms & complexity of tracted body.
He takes part to numerous festivals of electronic music between 2003/2004 as "Superfici Sonore", "Italian Live Media", "Dislab/Dissonanze", "Interferenze", etc. During his live (etre) uses patches created with Max/Msp extending the criterion of total improvisation in extemporaneous way and also passing through the electronic search and the praxis of the body. He develops also a special type of sound called wall-recording: a sound result directly from the auscultation of the walls. Recently he's working at his first cd "pop-folk" with voice, guitar & digital music. He's member of iXem and writes on Cyberzone & on web-journal Sands-zine.
